Receptionist

Position Overview:

Ogi Chiropractic is seeking a warm, welcoming, and compassionate individual to fill the role of receptionist in our clinic. The ideal candidate will help to ensure the smooth operation of our chiropractic office. Your friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and communication skills will contribute to a positive patient experience. As the first point of contact for our patients, our receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and a positive first impression.

 

Benefits and Compensation: 

  • $17/hr

  • ~35 hours/week

  • 4-day work week, Monday - Thursday,  8:30-6:00 with a break in the middle of the day

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and Patient Coordination.

  • Greet patients and visitors with a warm smile and friendly tone and demeanor.

  • Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar.

  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries,  and provide information about our services.

  • Maintain a well-organized reception area.

 

Insurance Verification and Financial Tasks:

  • Verify health insurance coverage for patients.

  • Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and coverage.

  • Process patient payments, issue receipts, and manage financial transactions.

  • Apply insurance payments to patient accounts accurately and reconcile discrepancies.

 

Online Presence and Social Media Management:

  • Post relevant articles and updates on the clinic's Facebook page to engage patients and promote chiropractic wellness.

  • Respond to patient inquiries and comments on Facebook messenger in a professional manner.

 

DOT Exam Assistance and Vitals Collection:

  • Assist with DOT Exams (Medical exams for Truck/Bus drivers) by taking patients' vitals and recording necessary information accurately.

  • Follow established protocols and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive health data.

 

General Office Duties:

  • Perform routine office tasks such as filing, scanning, photocopying, and faxing documents.

  • Ensure the office environment is clean, organized, and presentable at all times.

  • Manage and restock office supplies as needed to support smooth operations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be proficient and up-to-date with basic computer/tech skills

    • Must be able to use computer to troubleshoot problems that might occur with technology.​

    • We are a mostly paperless office, so technological proficiency is a must and something we can't really teach.

    • Recommended 40+ words per minute typing

  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to handle confidential patient information with discretion and professionalism

  • Empathetic and Patient-Oriented mindset.

 

Bonus but not Required:

  • Familiarity with health insurance processes and terminology is desirable.

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures, especially related to chiropractic care, is advantageous.

  • Additional education or healthcare-related certification is a plus.

  • Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare or chiropractic setting is helpful but not required.


While it’s beneficial to have prior experience in a healthcare setting, it is by no means a requirement. We will train you to use our software, take vitals, and perform other healthcare-related tasks and you will learn certain jargon quickly just by being exposed to it regularly.

Working Conditions:
The Receptionist role is based in a chiropractic clinic setting. The position requires standing, sitting, and moving around the office throughout the day. The candidate must be comfortable interacting with patients, healthcare professionals, insurance companies, and team members in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
